The Stormy Day
There was a girl called Lucy who lived on a little island called Robin Island . Robin Island can’t be seen on most maps, but Lucy loved it so much that, Lucy wouldn’t go on a holiday to England or Spain, Lucy will just camp on the beach with her dad. One day Lucy was coming home from her holiday on the beach. When Lucy came home from her holiday like always, Lucy will play tea parties with her dolls and teddy bears, but sometimes when Lucy's dad wasn’t doing any work he would join in too, but not today he was too busy writing about Robin Island and thinking about making a holiday house so that the visitors can stay. So Lucy played tea parties happily with her dolls and teddy bears until Lucy saw the time. It was lunch time. Lucy’s tummy rumbled like a volcano.
“I know, I’ll ask dad if I can have lunch. See you in a minute guys.” said Lucy to her dolls and teddy bears. Finally Lucy found her dad and cried,
“I’M HUNGRY, I WANT LUNCH!”
Lucy screamed it out so loudly that Lucy's dad fell off his chair and replied
“Any thing for my sweet darling Lucy,”
“Yippy!” cried Lucy jumping up and down while clapping happily.
“So what do you want for lunch then?” asked Lucy's dad hoping she wouldn’t choose fish.
“I want fish,” replied Lucy.
“Anything for my sweet darling Lucy,” replied her dad a bit grumpily. Lucy’s dad looked and looked and looked but no use he couldn’t find any fish. He asked Lucy,
“Lucy darling, could you have something else instead?”
“NO!” cried Lucy angrily.
“Lets fish some then,” replied Lucy’s dad smiling because he had and good idea. So off the both of them went, down to the sea with their boat. At last Lucy was going to get her fish but one problem a storm was coming in. What should they do? Turn around and go home or should they stay in the middle of the sea?
“I’m sorry dad, it was a bit cloudy when I wanted fish for lunch,” cried Lucy a bit worried with the storm.
“We can just relax and let the tide take us to land,” replied Lucy’s dad a bit scared himself. But he spoke to soon because a really big wave was coming.
“Oh No!” they both cried with a feeling that something else bad will happen. They were so worried that Lucy's dad said,
“At second thought let’s paddle to land instead,”
“Agree!” said Lucy very scared at this point. So off they paddled it was a very ruff ride until Lucy said,
“Look dad,” she said pointing to something.
“There’s land!” she cried. So there was, but they got so close to the island then the wind with a little help with the big wave they saw earlier made them go on to a big sharp rock, so now their boat had broke. The only thing they could do was call for help.
“HELP! HELP!” they both cried at the top of their voice. They were screaming it out so loudly that two people herd them, and then found them and said,
“Are you OK?” asked one.
“No! Our boat got pushed on this rock by the storm,” replied Lucy’s dad
“I’ll call 999, the life guards,” cried the second person. So he said to the life guard,
“Hello, can I have a life guard please because two people are stuck in their boat on a rock,”
“Ok we’ll be on our way,” replied the life guard.
Before you could say ‘Flowers on peanuts’ the life guards were out and ready to go to Lucy and her dad,
“Help!” Lucy and her dad,
“There, there they are!” cried one of the life guards. So off went the life guards before you could say ‘I eat butter and butter side down’ the life guards were at the rock were Lucy and her dad were.
“Jump in!” cried one of the life guards. On the count of three Lucy’s dad jumped on to the life guard’s boat.
“Jump Lucy!” cried Lucy’s dad,
“You won’t fall, I promise,” continued Lucy’s dad. So she did jump and she didn’t fall. When the life guards got back to land with Lucy and her dad, one of the life guards asked Lucy’s dad,
“Why where you out at sea?”
“My daughter, Lucy wanted some fish, do you know where we can get some?” replied Lucy’s dad.
“Do you have any money?” asked the life guard.
“No, we didn’t know this will happen,” replied Lucy’s dad.
“Well, why don’t you have £30 from me, and that should be info for you and your daughter to have lunch and to get home,” suggested a life guard.
“Thank you, sir,” replied Lucy.
“That’s OK,” said the life guard, “Take care,” continued the life guard as he walked away.
“We will,” replied Lucy’s dad. So Lucy and her dad walked and walked until Lucy’s dad asked Lucy,
“What do you want for lunch, Lucy?”
“I want fish and chips please dad,” replied Lucy.
“Ok Lucy, the fish and chips shop is right around this corner,” said Lucy’s dad. Lucy’s dad bought the food. As they ate their food the cloud disappeared. Finally Lucy and her dad got on a boat and went home. Lucy’s dad got his business. And Lucy, well she ask her dad if she could have her own room for her dad, herself and all her dolls and teddy bears, Lucy also gave out brochures to everyone. And they both made a lot of money and they had lots of guest. And Robin Island became famous and so did Lucy and her dad for their big adventure.
At the swimming pool
SPLASH! I get wet as rain falls on me,
You learn to swim,
You’re not aloud to sing a hymn,
But you need to pay a fee.
Laughs and shouts can be heard,
As you see flying birds.
When you’re sitting on a bench,
You are surrounded by a fence,
You won’t go in the pool third.
Test me!
Test me with a maths test.
‘Ok’ said my teacher.
He put it down in front of me and said,
‘You have half an hour to do the test you can start….. NOW!’
I looked down
Scratched my head
Looked down again
Read the first question
And saw it was a literacy test.
